Reed School offers a nurturing climate for the primary age student. In addition to a full California standards - based academic program, there is a school-wide focus on developmentally appropriate activities, positive reinforcement, integration of technology and art into the curriculum, and a special motor development program.
In 2002 Reed Elementary was a recipient of the California Distinguished School Award.
This award honors some of the state's most exemplary and inspiring public schools. Schools selected for Distinguished School Awards are strong, well-rounded community schools.
The school facilities include a multipurpose room, library, music room, art room, and turfed athletic field. Average class size is 18. Each class has a full-time teacher and a 3-hour instructional assistant. The staff also includes a principal, media specialist, certificated music, technology, art, and physical education teachers, and office staff.
Thursday ( Minimum Day) All students are released at 1:30 pmThe school office will be open from 8:00 to 4:00 Monday - Friday All Students Students are to arrive at school between 8:00 and 8:15. The first bell rings at 8:15 for the students to line up by Room number on the blacktop. Students who arrive after the 8:20 bell are to report to the office for a tardy slip. Kindergarten

Thursday (Minimum Day) All students ae released at 1:30 pm
All Kindergarten students are assigned to a Stay Day. This special extended day program offers our Kindergarten students the educational advantage of small group instruction tailored to their personal needs. On this assigned day, students are released at 1:55 pm - Student are assigned to a group and day sometime in September after evaluations have been completed.Grades 1 & 2
